This two session course will give you the opportunity to learn the basics of cake decorating. 

October 17 - Session 1: layering and icing cakes, borders, and piping

Supplies required: 

  • Two (2) layers of the same size cake on your plate
  • Enough buttercream frosting to coat and decorate your cake (click here for a buttercream recipe)
  • Icing tips #12 and 1M or 366, 4b, PME 13, and a 104
  • Piping bag(s)
  • Spatula(s)
  • Icing Smoother (optional)

 

October 24 - Session 2: swirls, rosettes, writing, dots, and beads

Supplies required: 

  • Cake Tips: open star (1M and Tip 18)
  • Piping Tips: 12, 10, and 2
  • Petal Tip: 104
  • Leaf Tip: 352
  • Buttercream Frosting to decorate (click here for a buttercream recipe)
  • Piping bag(s)
  • Spatula
